WayPoints is built on a foundation of privacy. We don't collect personal data. We don't track individuals. We don't use cookies. We believe destinations can thrive without sacrificing visitor privacy.

Our Privacy Principles

  • No Tracking: We don't track individual visitors across locations or sessions.
  • No Cookies: We don't use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
  • Aggregated Analytics Only: All data is aggregated and anonymous from the start.
  • GDPR Compliant by Design: We exceed GDPR requirements by not collecting personal data in the first place.

For Visitors Using WayPoints Platforms

What We Don't Collect

  • Your name or contact information
  • Your device ID or IP address
  • Your precise location
  • Your browsing history
  • Any personally identifiable information

What We Do Track (Anonymously)

  • General visitor flow patterns (e.g., "40% of trail users visit downtown")
  • Aggregated engagement metrics (e.g., "Average time on experience: 12 minutes")
  • Anonymous business referrals (e.g., "23 clicks to Coffee Shop A today")
  • General device type (mobile/desktop) for optimization

How It Works

When you scan a QR code or visit a WayPoints-powered experience, we generate a temporary, random session ID that expires when you close your browser. This ID cannot be linked to you personally and is only used to provide a smooth experience during your visit.

For DMO Partners

Partner Account Data

For our DMO partners, we collect only what's necessary to provide service:

  • Organization name and contact information
  • Billing information (processed securely through Stripe)
  • Platform usage analytics
  • Content you upload (locations, routes, business information)

Data Security

All partner data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and regular third-party security audits. Access is limited to authorized personnel only.

Your Rights

For Visitors

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to request, correct, or delete. You're always anonymous.

For Partners

You have the right to:

  • Access your account data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Export your data
  • Delete your account and all associated data

Third-Party Services

For the WayPoints Website

  • Google Analytics: Tracks anonymous website usage on mywaypoints.app only
  • Formspree: Processes contact form submissions
  • Netlify: Hosts our website securely
  • Stripe: Processes payments (we never see your card details)

For WayPoints Platforms

Individual WayPoints experiences (like gafg.mywaypoints.app) do NOT use any analytics, tracking, or third-party services. They're completely private.

Children's Privacy

WayPoints doesn't collect data from anyone, including children. Our platforms are safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll notify all partner organizations by email at least 30 days before changes take effect. Our commitment to privacy-first design will never change.
